A&B Kokua Giving
Long ago, the leaders of our Company established the platform for A&B’s program of community giving, viewing community support not as an obligation, but as an opportunity to help build and ensure vibrant communities and a vibrant state, with healthy and fulfilling lives for the people of Hawaii.
From its very beginning, in 1870, our Company has provided cash donations for community needs. For the last two decades, this was done through the Alexander & Baldwin Foundation but we have now returned to a program of direct corporate giving to worthy causes – the A&B Kokua Giving Program.
Thanks to the commitment of A&B’s board and senior management, Alexander & Baldwin will continue its long held practice of setting aside at least one percent of pre-tax income each year for charitable giving. We remain dedicated to making a positive difference in our communities.
This culture of corporate giving extends to our employees who are encouraged to lend their time, talents and professional expertise to charitable, professional, and other non-profit organizations in their communities.
Their efforts are often supported by the Company in additional ways, including programs that match volunteer time and personal cash donations.
We believe that, through the commitment of all, comes a better life for all.
